What does “Skrik” mean?

The name “Skrik” comes from the original Norwegian name for Edvard Munch’s famous painting “The Scream.” The entity that has become manifest as Skrik is essentially a spiritual successor to this masterpiece itself, crystallizing the very primal impulse that drives so many artists to insanity.

Expressionist art and music had a profound impact on Brandon’s development as an artist. The drive to express became the very lifeblood of Skrik. The fact that Brandon’s artistic expression revolves around screaming could very well be a result of being directly inspired by Munch, even instructed by his spirit.

Skrik is pronounced “Skreek,” but Skrik reserves the right to adapt the pronunciation on the fly–generally but not limited to “Skrick”–as necessary for wordplay or rhyming.
